Being the VP of finance in AEPhi is an incredibly thrilling opportunity for me. I am enthusiastic about contributing to the success and sustainability of our sorority. By managing the finances effectively, I aim to ensure that our resources are used wisely, enabling us to fund various activities, events, and philanthropic initiatives that positively impact our community. I also look forward to working collaboratively with my sorority sisters, fostering a sense of transparency and accountability regarding our finances. Establishing open communication channels and financial literacy within the chapter is something I am passionate about, as it empowers everyone to understand and contribute to our financial goals. Overall, this is my opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our sisterhood, ensuring that our financial health aligns with our collective vision and goals.

I am so excited to be the VP of Philanthropy! My entire life I have been extremely passionate about philanthropy and since joining AEPhi I have fallen in love with all the sisters do to support the causes they are passionate for. I am looking forward to making philanthropy in AEPhi more personal and catered to sisters' individual passions, while also supporting our national philanthropies Sharsheret and EGPAF.

I am so excited to be a NME for our Xi class. I joined AEPHI in the fall of 2022, I was a new transfer student and wanted to make friends and find a community at Emerson but I wasn’t sure how. Going through my recruitment process was very special to me as my NME’s made me feel welcomed and supported in every aspect of the sorority and outside. I was fortunate enough to meet some of my closest friends through my process as well and I gained so much support and a community that made me feel like I belonged. As NME I am dedicated to creating a community within the Xi pledge class and serving as a mentor in what it means to be a member of our sorority. They will be shown kindness, friendship, and be given the confidence to continue growing as strong young women both in the sorority setting and in their young adulthood.

I could not be more excited to be one of our chapter two New Member Educators this upcoming semester! Having recently completed the process myself, I know how exciting but sometimes scary it can be to be a new member in such a tight knit community. As NME, I hope to help ease any of our new members' concerns and help them transition into our sisterhood as comfortably as possible while also encouraging them to have fun and sharing with them the spirit of our chapter.

I am so excited to be the new VP of Ribbons on the Runway! For those who don’t know, Ribbons on the Runway is a charity runway event the Beta Alpha chapter puts on each fall semester. With all proceeds donated to Sharsheret, a Jewish Breast Cancer Organization, Ribbons (for short) will have a silent auction and a runway show walked by the AEPhi sisters as our two main events. I have an incredible team this term and I can’t wait for everyone to see our event next October.

A Note From the President

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome to the website of the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi here at Emerson College! I’m so honored to present to you our sisters, our values, our philanthropy, and every exciting event in between! I could not be more proud of our beautiful sisterhood, and I encourage you to look around the site and see the strong bonds we have built as you learn more about our chapter.

Emerson College, located in the heart of Boston, MA is home to our chapter, currently with 75 members. Our organization, Alpha Epsilon Phi, was founded on October 24th, 1909 at Barnard College, by a group of driven young Jewish women looking for a place to call home. Over 100 years later, there are chapters all over the United States and Canada; including 5 others in Boston that we love! I am so grateful to be leading our chapter this year as we adjust back to normal life and embrace connection once again. Our group is made up of confident and ambitious sisters from all across the country and beyond. At Emerson College and within the Beta Alpha chapter we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment, for open minded and creative individuals to thrive in.

Our sisters work hard at everything they do. From achieving the Dean's List semester after semester, to being student leaders in a wide variety of organizations on campus, we are always there to lend a hand and encourage each other. Before joining this sisterhood, I knew there would be opportunities for direct professional growth; however, I am blown away by the indirect personal growth and community engaged work I have been fortunate enough to have been a part of during the past three years. Last year we raised almost $6,000 for our philanthropy Sharsheret, at our annual fashion show philanthropy event, Ribbons On the Runway. Through a redesigned social media campaign, sisters were able to connect with Boston based businesses, select clothing, market the vision, and host a year-long virtual fashion show through relying on each other and working as a team. Despite the challenge of a virtual runway campaign, as opposed to a typical one day in-person fashion show, we were still extremely successful in our endeavor. Our chapter founded Ribbons On the Runway 18 years ago, and continues to thrive looking forward to raising funds and awareness together with our Boston community each year.

Whether you’re looking to get involved in the community, make lifelong friends, or create strong networking and leadership skills, I encourage you to come out for our chapter. Each day I find myself more and more astonished by my sister's achievements: scholastically, professionally, and within the community. We take the core values of what it means to be a sister of Alpha Epsilon Phi very seriously, and we hope you will learn how these values have helped us to build and achieve our goals. Our motto, “Many Hearts, One Purpose” is evident on campus and beyond, in life long friendships and sisterhood wherever life takes us!

LML,
